The Steve Jobs Book Is Out!

I saw the piece about Steve Jobs and the author last night on 60 Mins! The book look like it is going to be AWESOME and I cant wait tho read it!

About The Book : Based on more than forty interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

At a time when America is seeking ways to sustain its innovative edge, and when societies around the world are trying to build digital-age economies, Jobs stands as the ultimate icon of inventiveness and applied imagination. He knew that the best way to create value in the twenty-first century was to connect creativity with technology. He built a company where leaps of the imagination were combined with remarkable feats of engineering.

Although Jobs cooperated with this book, he asked for no control over what was written nor even the right to read it before it was published. He put nothing off-limits. He encouraged the people he knew to speak honestly. And Jobs speaks candidly, sometimes brutally so, about the people he worked with and competed against. His friends, foes, and colleagues provide an unvarnished view of the passions, perfectionism, obsessions, artistry, devilry, and compulsion for control that shaped his approach to business and the innovative products that resulted.

Driven by demons, Jobs could drive those around him to fury and despair. But his personality and products were interrelated, just as Apple’s hardware and software tended to be, as if part of an integrated system. His tale is instructive and cautionary, filled with lessons about innovation, character, leadership, and values.

Apple Wants To ‘Talk iPhone’

Apple wants to ‘talk iPhone’ on October 4th — Engadget.

Well, it’s about freaking time! Apple has finally begun sending out invites for its upcoming press conference, and the company’s being none too subtle with the hints, offering up some familiar app icons in the artwork and the tagline “Let’s talk iPhone.” As to whether it’ll be an iPhone 5, 4S or some other new formation, we’ll all have to wait until the event to find out — and you’d better believe we’ll be there at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters to find out.

The iPhone 4S

BGR reports on a new research note from Wedge Partners analyst Brian Blair, who claims that Apple will be introducing only one new iPhone model, the so-called “iPhone 4S”, at its October 4th media event. The claim runs contrary to some other recent rumors that Apple will be introducing both an iPhone 4S and a redesigned iPhone 5, but agrees with other analysts who have seen no sign of a redesigned iPhone 5 coming through Apple’s supply chain.

“We expect the focus of the new iPhone will be iOS 5, a speedier A5 processor and a higher resolution 8 MP camera with a small possibility of a larger 4 inch screen,” Blair wrote. “We believe the casing will be largely similar to the iPhone with some particular modifications to the antennae [sic]. We don’t expect a second, dramatically different iPhone to accompany this as we don’t think Apple needs to have 3 models in the market to address the high end, mid-tier and low end since the iPhone 4 (with memory lowered to 8 GB) will drop to $99 and effectively attack those markets.”

The complete lack of parts evidence for a redesigned iPhone 5 has led to serious questions about the potential for such a device being launched this fall, and with the iPhone 4S having been seen sporting an A5 processor it seems possible Apple may be planning only the iPhone 4S as its next-generation iPhone model.

“The iPhone” 2007

Wow, what more can you say about it! It is “The iPhone” and it is HERE! It came out on Nicky’s Birthday, and he almost got one too!! hehe I played with it for the first time that first weekend and it truly is an amazing phone! I never saw such hype and so many people analyzing one product before in my life! I am going to pick one up soon, but I wanted to get a real feel for it and see what people are talking about it! Cell phones for me for some reason never intrigued me so much. I know so many people who get new phones like 2 or 3 times a year. I stuck with my ol Nokia with the flip out keyboard, which is still to me a great phone and it will be missed! Yeas, there is a TON of things that disappoint me about the iPhone and do I wish it was upgraded, YES! I do sit back and see that it blows my Nokia away and it DOES do the things I need it to do! So with all the trade offs, it is a killer phone and communication device and I am looking forward to getting one very, VERY soon!
